Limit: 12 Actors
This acting class will introduce young adult actors ages 16-20 to Stanislavski's Method and imagination-based acting. Over 8 weeks, we will cover the foundational tools to breaking down a script, discovering characters, and making playable acting choices. Actors will learn about objectives, beats, units and actions as well as making vocal and physical choices from an emotional truth to create character.

This class is perfect for both actors who are newer to the craft of acting and experienced actors who could use a brush up on their technique. We will cover as many concepts as possible in the 90 minute classes while allowing time for scene work as well. Actors are expected to meet a minimum of 1x/week outside of class to rehearse, get off-book on scenes, and read their assigned plays. Actors will spend the majority of the class working on scenes and, if time permits, we will touch on monologues in the latter weeks of the session. If time does not permit, monologue work will be included in the Fall's Craft of Acting II session.

Good acting requires truth and vulnerability. This is an inclusive environment, open all individuals who love the art of acting and want to grow as artists. All are welcome and will be respected. Any student who violates this respectful environment will be removed from class.
