In this 2-hour workshop, you will be introduced to techniques used for performing Shakespeare through vocal choices, text analysis, and general acting skills. Topics explored include iambic pentameter, rhetoric, building a character, objectives, tactics/actions, and more. Each participant will receive a unique piece of text from a Shakespeare play to work on during this workshop. You will work on your text with the lessons and exercises discussed throughout the workshop and perform it for the class at the end of the evening with a possible redirect.

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce actors new and seasoned to the basic techniques used to approach Shakespearean text. If anyone wishes to continue into the upcoming Acting Shakespeare classes, the cost of this workshop will be applied to their class fee.
